Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the best way to contact you?
Email me at stuart@stuart-magog.co.uk or call me on 0117 902 4168. If I’m not in the office, you can leave a message on the answerphone and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
What’s the difference between a freelance designer and a design agency?
The biggest difference is the price! I spent several years working in design agencies and can assure you that the quality of my work is every bit as good as you would expect from an agency.
How much do you charge?
Every job is different and every client has unique requirements; therefore every job is quoted individually. If you request a quote I will email you a response within 24 hours, although I often reply within a couple of hours. The quote will describe what is included for the price.
Will we sign a contract before beginning a project?
I have a contract between myself and the client which specifies the agreed project and cost. Most freelancers and design agencies will require you to sign a similar contract before initiating work on a project.
Why do you require a 25% deposit?
With new clients I request 25% of the cost upfront as a down payment. Some freelancers request as much as 50% up front. Once a client becomes established I generally don’t bill them until after the work is complete.
Do you work directly for design agencies?
Yes—over the last year or so I’ve worked directly with several design agencies. They typically contact me during busy periods when they need extra support. I tend to quote on a per-job basis and all work is done in confidence—none of the projects are displayed in my online portfolio.
If you work for an agency and you’d like to hire me or would like me to quote on some work, contact me on 0117 902 4168 or email me at stuart@stuart-magog.co.uk.
I’ve never hired a designer before. What can I expect?
Hiring a designer can be daunting if you’ve never done it before. Pick up the phone and call me on 0117 902 4168 and I’ll be happy to discuss your requirements and answer any questions you might have.
